Tune in to Better Earth Climate Week!

Food is central to just about everything – climate change included. In fact, the world’s food system is estimated to be responsible for one-quarter of the greenhouse gases humans generate each year.
But every problem presents an even greater opportunity, and we believe that food, and the value chain surrounding it, is our silver bullet to a Better Earth.
In honor of Climate Week, we’re chatting with environmental advocates and business leaders involved in food’s climate story from field to food to field. We’ll get their take on food’s impact on the environment, COVID’s influence on what the future will hold, and actions we can all take to make a difference.
Tune in by following Better Earth @becompostable on Instagram and heading to our Instagram profile next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 3 PM ET for 10-min chats with the following incredible people.
Tuesday, 9/22 @ 3PM:
Cassia Patel, Program Director at Oceanic Global
They are steadfast ocean advocates that empower all of us to protect our ocean’s health and, in turn, our own. We’ll be talking about the impacts of single-use plastic packaging on our environment, and how Oceanic Global is supporting foodservice establishments around the world operate safely and sustainably through the pandemic. Check out their free Oceanic Standard Reopening Guidelines!
Wednesday, 9/23 @ 3PM:
Blair Michal, Composting Program Manager at CompostNow
Thanks to their easy and impactful composting programs, Compost Now empowers community members and local businesses to divert their compostables from the landfill, and, instead, use those nutrients to build healthy soil by composting. We’ll dive into the easy, impactful ways the foodservice industry can support a critical climate solution: replenishing our soils.
Thursday 9/24 @ 3PM:
Joe Spiccia, Relationship Manager at Fresh Harvest
Consider Fresh Harvest Metro Atlanta’s online farmers market, delivered to your doorstep. Joe will elaborate on how Fresh Harvest and their partner-farmers rose to the challenge to safely and sustainably deliver local food across Atlanta through COVID-19, as well as the cascading environmental benefits gained from investing in our local agricultural economy.
Need help remembering? We got you. Sign up HERE to receive daily e-mail reminders from me personally next Tuesday through Thursday to tune in with us in honor of Climate Week! See you soon on Instagram Live 3PM next Tuesday-Thursday at @becompostable!
