Join us in Celebrating World Oceans Day

Water is life, and it’s true. Our planet is 71% water, and similarly, up to 60% of the human body is too.
And that means we’re suffocating too. On average, we are eating, swallowing or breathing in about 2,000 tiny pieces of plastic each week, a new study suggests, which is an amount equal to the weight of one credit card.
And plastic pollution is only one of the many growing crises our oceans are facing – which includes accelerated climate change, mining and overfishing.
As a compostable foodservice packaging company, we are proud to provide safe and sustainable alternatives to single-use plastics and support movements like World Oceans Day that share our vision for a better earth.

And beyond our products, we continue to challenge ourselves to better understand the problem, look inward and help catalyze plastic reduction initiatives around the world.
Across the board these past few months have served as a humble reminder of how important small acts of courage can be, and in regards to our oceans, that can look like participating in your local government’s public comment period, voting for elected officials that will advocate for our oceans, or simply starting with small lifestyle changes at home.
DID YOU KNOW: Our oceans are the lungs of our planet, providing most of the oxygen we breathe.
And above all else, an easy action we can all take is learning more. We encourage you to join us for the United Nations’ World Oceans Day Virtual Event on Monday, June 8th from 10 AM – 5 PM ET, hosted in partnership with Oceanic Global. It will be a day-long event featuring keynote speeches, panels, and presentations with leading voices in the ocean advocacy movement, including Cara Delevingne, Jean-Michel Cousteau, Sylvia Earle and Ellie Goulding.
Happy World Oceans Day!
